Steve Moppert, a former winner of the Grand Prize for Best in Show at the National Portrait Competition held in New York, has actively worked as a successful artist for more than 50 years. Always holding himself to the highest  standards in the polishing of his skills and production of his work, he has consistently attained distinction in the mastery of his art.

Moppert attended the Art Students League of New York, where he was under the tutelage of some of America’s most prominent artists, including the late John Howard Sanden and Everett Raymond Kinstler. Believing that an artist should always challenge himself to grow and experience the fun of change, he later studied at the Art Students League of Denver. While in Colorado, he was accepted into workshops conducted by some of our modern-day masters.

Moppert’s portraits are in private, academic, judicial, medical, and corporate collections across the United States. He equally enjoys portraying children and family members as well as professionals. His enthusiasm and fondness for his work are steadfast; each new canvas at the easel generates a special eagerness and desire to produce the best he has to offer.
